Whatever you do, and I mean this, you got to listen to this twice, whatever you do, if you are doing a renovation, do not, do not, do not fall into the trap of going with the current trend. I'll give you an example of one trend from, I don't know, maybe 10 years ago, that just blows up sales on properties today.

The trend I'm referring to is gray everywhere. Do you remember when that seemed to be a cool thing? Gray laminate floors or gray engineered hardwood, gray cabinets, gray walls, like just a world of gray? Like when I see a property like that, it's just like, oh my goodness, what a missed opportunity.

It's so depressing and so stale, you may as well be living in a hospital. But for a brief period of time, it was the thing to do. And the truth is when that trend first started, it did seem kind of neat. But it was a trend, it was a fad, it was a gimmick, and you got to resist that when you're doing a reno.

Do not fall into that trap or you will regret it because unfortunately, all of those houses, and I just looked at one the other day, $2 million house, all gray. They can't sell it because it's so dated. And even though it's in great condition, it's pristine. Someone's going to rip out that flooring, they're going to change the cabinets, and that is a real shame.

So, as I said, don't ever fall victim to the trap of going with trendy colors or trendy designs when you do a home renovation. Are you thinking of selling? Send me a message, I can help you too.
